Workspaces¶
A workspace is an access-controlled, collaborative work area within a CoBaseKRM application environment. A minimum of one existing workspace is required in a CoBaseKRM application environament.
Workspaces may be defined from several operational objectives and activities:
-
Users – A designated group of employees who are assigned to a workspace to carry out the responsibilities and objectives of project activities and tasks. Users may belong to multiple workspaces and be assigned different roles for different workspaces.
-
Subject matter – A focus area for building comprehensive knowledge for fostering discovery and innovation, such as:
-
product
-
product family - a workspace may be created for a family of related compounds that share common parameters (e.g., ingredients, manufacturing factors) and responses (e.g., quality goals), though these may vary in levels across compounds. Workspace members are able to compare, make contributions to, share, and reuse existing research and knowledge effectively.
-
designing a line of research - A company that produces both compounds and compound filters would typically maintain separate projects and activities for each area of research, reflecting the workspace members and parameters of interest.
-
-
Parameters – A consistent set of factors (inputs, process variables) and responses (outputs, quality metrics) that apply to the work within the space
