Update settings for a project¶
The Project Settings tab for a project enables you to change available settings for the project. To navigate to this view, select Projects from the navigation bar, click or tap a project and select the Project Settings tab.
Currently, the Project Settings tab support the following capabilities:
- Change the name of a project
- Change the description of a project
- Archive a project
Change the name of a project¶
To change the name of a project:

On the Project Settings tab, edit the name value in the Project Name field.

To save your changes to the database, click or tap the Update button.
Change the description of a project¶
To change the description of a project:

On the Project Settings tab, edit the value in the Project Description field.

To save your changes to the database, click or tap the Update button.
Archive a project¶
The ability to archive a project from the Project Settings tab is determined by the permissions in your assigned role. If you have a Researcher role, you are only allowed to archive projects, which you have created. If you have an Administrator or Lab manager role, you are allowed to archive any project in your assigned workspaces.
This capability is also available from the Projects view, where you will see an archive icon beside each project name.
To archive a project The ability to archive a project on the Project Settings tab is determined by the permissions in your assigned role. To archive a project:

On the Project Settings tab, click or tap the Archive Project button.
The Archive Project dialog appears.

In the first input field, type the exact name of the project to confirm that you want to continue with archiving the project.

In the second input field, type a required reason for archiving the project.

Click or tap the Archive button.
The system verifies that you have the appropriate level of permissions to archive the given project. The project is removed from being displayed in the Projects view and is added to the Archived Projects view.
